Marine Technical Limits (MTL) are pleased to host the Aberdeen Maritime Branch for an evening technical visit that highlights how digital technology, engineering innovation and practical safety systems deliver a step‑change in the inspection, repair and integrity management of floating offshore assets.
The evening will feature a series of short technical sessions and live demonstrations, including:
PYXIS: MTL will demonstrate their end‑to‑end digital integrity management platform, showing how inspection planning, data capture, engineering assessment and decision‑making integrate into a single auditable workflow. The team will run a live demonstration of the Elios drone and ROV integration to show how they capture high‑quality inspection data in confined and hazardous spaces and seamlessly incorporate it into the integrity management process.
Water‑backed welding: MTL will move from theory to practice with a classroom session that explains the engineering principles, risk controls and qualification philosophy. They will then run a practical workshop using MTL’s water‑backed welding rig to demonstrate how they develop weld qualifications and repair techniques for offshore environments.
Managing confined space and hot work risk on floating facilities: MTL will deliver practical demonstrations of their Safe System of Work and VPS skids, showing how they enable safer tank entry, ventilation, power, lighting and gas management. They will also demonstrate how they mitigate risks associated with topsides fugitive hydrocarbons during inspection and hot work activities.
This visit aims to provide a highly practical, engineering‑led experience that shows how modern digital tools and purpose‑designed systems improve safety, assurance and efficiency offshore. The content will be relevant to Operators, Regulators, Class and Consultants.
MTL will provide refreshments and nibbles before and after the technical sessions, giving attendees time for informal discussion and networking.
