FPSO integrity management and repair specialist Marine Technical Limits (MTL) has added three new recruits to its multi-disciplinary team.
Following a considerable number of contract wins during 2019 and an incredibly busy autumn, the Kintore-based organisation recognised a need to expand its 50 – strong workforce. With that in mind it has welcomed Ruairidh Hardy and Santiago Zuniga as Naval Architects and Liam Dey, a CAD Designer.
Santiago Zuniga, a bilingual Naval Architect and Ocean Engineer, joins with a wealth of knowledge in the marine industry and FPSOs in particular, as well as excellent risk-based experience. Schooled in Mexico, he spent more than eight months on the Norwegian flagged Sailing Ship Sørlandet before coming to Scotland for his Masters’ degree.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be finishing 2019 by joining MTL as a Naval Architect. I’m proud to be part of an ambitious and forward-thinking company that is always innovating yet makes time to focus on key values, such as safety, quality and client empathy. I feel I can make a credible contribution in delivering best practice and excellence through MTL’s distinct and bespoke engineering procedures.”
Having recently concluded his Masters’ in Naval Architecture, Ruairidh Hardy relocated to Aberdeen from Newcastle where he gained experience in hydrodynamics, ship design and marine management.
He said: “I’m excited to start my career with MTL. The company offers excellent training, development and progression opportunities and I’m looking forward to finding out what the future holds.”
Liam Dey holds a BSc (Hons) in Digital Media from Robert Gordon University, as well as an HNC in Architectural Technology and an HND in Visual Communication. Coming from a well-known and established construction company, his technical expertise will be welcomed by the multi-skilled team responsible for developing offshore equipment.
