Specialists FPSO integrity and risk management firm, Marine Technical Limits (MTL) has been recognised for its outstanding work by the Energy Institute.
The company, which is head-quartered in Kintore, Aberdeenshire had its “Guidelines for the Management of Structural ALE Issues for Mono-hull FPSOs” published and made available for download through the Energy Institute website.
MTL employees have worked as technical authors with the Energy Institute and the ALECOM committee to develop this invaluable resource.
Worldwide, there are many mono-hull FPSOs in operation which are approaching, have reached, or have exceeded their original design life. This paper aims to provide guidance to owners and operators outlining how the hull-structures of these assets can remain fit for purpose for the remainder of the field life.
The paper covers a wide range of aspects, including Regulatory Requirements; Specific Considerations for FPSOs; ALE Engineering Assessments; Hull Structural Analysis; Managing the Future; finishing with real life case studies.
